Thank you again, wonderful Secret Pal!!!!! I absolutely loved everything!! I am very happy to finally get to show other bloggers all of your sweet generosity and fabulous taste. I am sorry I could not show the balls of Lane Cervinia, but Charlie got ahold of them and while they are just fine they are quite unraveled. I decided not to post them here, because I did not want anyone to think you had sent them to me that way (I am sure you wouldn't do that)! Secondly the Car Freshner is already in the car and today it is at work with hubby! Thank you Again Again!

I hope these pictures look okay. We were not to happy with the Nikon P2, so we returned it for the Sony N1. We are really hoping that this camera will be a keeper! More on that later!

New kittens, New Camera, Bad Computer, Great Secret Pal!!

Today I am Elated about: The two new animal family members that joined us a few weeks ago!!! Trying out our new Nikon p2 and keeping fingers crossed!!! All the goodies from my Secret Pal which arrived weeks ago and will hopefully be documented tomorrow!!! Learning to knit socks with the Magic Loop Method!! A very patient Secret Pal who recieved all of her gifties in one package, instead of a few spread out over the two months, due to technical difficulties!!

Today I am not so Elated about: Computer disaster that has caused a multitude of technical difficulties! Missing a one day trip to B.C. due to the ickies!

Here are the two new kittens. Sophie is on the left and Sam is on the right! They are 2 1/2 months old and very cute. Sam is the baby, so he is smaller, but a little braver than his sister. He is very trusting and cuddly, but she is very snuggly too and very playful.

Charlie the pup likes them alot and Squiddly the cat is getting used to them. All the cats look alike (except for Squiddly's size) so as they grow it is getting harder to tell them apart. I will introduce Squiddly soon. Since he is the first official family pet in this house, he deserves a special introduction.

Daisy Chain!

Today I am Elated about: Registering for the Daisy Pin Class at my local bead shop!!! First week of Ceramics Classes with Hubby!!! Buying new clay and ceramic supplies!! Getting to use my Mud Tools again!! Throwing on my wheel tomorrow!

Today I am not so Elated about: The messy house created by the multiple simultaneous craft projects! Having to clean aforementioned messy house!!

Well... it has been a lazy daisy week full of crafting! My very regular cleaning schedule is on a break, recuperating from Moms visit! She went home on Sunday, but she did such a good job of wearing us out that we are still lagging behind! Next week will have to be a super special week of double extra cleaning!

Ceramics class was fun this week! I really could use a brush up and it's hubby's first class! Tuesday was just discussion, but tonight we got to play absentmindedly with the clay! We made some cute pinch pots which were supposed to be as unique as possible! That was really nice because we were inspired to be original and to think outside the pot!

Now that the garage is all organized and the monstrosity is doing its job beautifully, I am going to set up my pottery wheel for frequent (hopefully) use! I was waiting till we started our class to get back into this delightful craft! I can't believe I actually waited this long! I can be very impatient! Now it is here though and now is the time! Yipee!

Lastly, I am going to have a very hard time waiting till mid October for the Daisy Pin class!

Sorry for the long disjointed post! I will revise and improve the picture in the morning! I am very sleepy, but wanted to get this post out there! Off to bed now!

Secret Pal 6 Q&A !

Well... Secret Pal 6 is on it's way now and I am soooo elated! I was so excited about getting my match and I totally forgot that I would also be someone's match! My Secret Pal e-mailed me this morning and mentioned that they look forward to seeing my questionnaire! Whoops! I thought I better post it asap! Hi Secret Pal ... nice to meet you ... here it is:

1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer higher quality and/or natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand? Or is it all the same to you?
- Oooh! I don't want to say that I am a yarn snob, but I guess I am! After I tried the higher quality and natural fibers the difference seemed really big to me, so I would not prefer to go back to the synthetics!

2. Do you spin? Crochet?
- I do spin and crochet! I just got my first spinning wheel a few weeks ago and it is a lot of fun!

3. Do you have any allergies? (smoke, pets, fibers, perfume, etc.)
- Smoke is not my favorite smell (hubby is allergic to it though).

4. How long have you been knitting?
-*blush* I have only been knitting since March of this year. I love to knit and I spend a lot of time doing it!

5. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?
- I do have an Amazon wish list located here! I love bookstores like halfpriced books which are used/new. If I find a book or item in good condition, but used, I will buy it right away! I got the "Stitch N' Bitch Journal" at HPB last week!

6. What's your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.)
-Hmmmm ... I love anything citrussy, not toooo sweet! I especially love grapefruit!

7. Do you have a sweet tooth?
- Unfortunately I have 32 sweet teeth!

8. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do?
- I love ALL crafts and DIY projects!!

9. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD)?
- I am currently adoring Eminem and The Black Eyed Peas! The White Stripes and Kanye West are also currently rocking my world!

10. What's your favorite color? Or--do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer? Any colors you just can't stand?
- I love sooo many colors that it would be hard to say that I dislike a color! I tend to like the warm reds and oranges, but I love them mixed with cool colors like turquoise and lime!

11. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets?
- I am situated with my hubby, cat and dog!

12. What are your life dreams? (really stretching it here, I know)
- Oh. My dream is to live a creative, happy, healthy, long life with my wonderful hubby, family and friends! I still dream of going to an art school!

13. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with?
- I am afraid that I do not really know, because I have not knit with a LOT of yarns!

14. What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?
- I am not a big fan of acrylic and synthetic yarns!

15. What is/are your current knitting obsession/s?
- I am not sure that I have a current obsession!

16. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?
- I don't know yet, but I guess I like scarves because they are quick! Oh, but I like little teddies too!

17. What are you knitting right now?
- Right now I am working on another Branching Out (this one is for my mother-in-law) and also working with moms on our Knit for her Cure "Emily" scarf!

18. What do you think about ponchos?
- Ponchos seem like an interesting concept and many of them seem very beautiful, however I feel like Cirque Du Soleil could perform underneath mine if I were to wear one! They just don't seem terribly slimming and I am sure I could use something slimming!

19. Do you prefer straight or circular needles?
- I love the modern convenience of circular needles! I used to love the antiquity and simplicity of straight bamboo needles because I felt as though I was connecting with knitters past.

20. Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?
- I am an addi turbo convert! I can't help it ... they are addi-cting!

21. Are you a sock knitter?
- I am not a sock knitter yet, but I really would like to learn the Magic Loop method! I tried and failed but of course I was trying to make it up as I went!

22. How did you learn to knit?
- I taught myself with Debbie Stoller's book "Stitch n' Bitch".

23. How old is your oldest UFO?
- If, lets say that, a bear was still missing one eye, or that a pair of booties was missing the ribbons, or that one bear was not even sewn together yet, would those be considered unfinished? If so then I would have to say about six months! Otherwise my projects are finished!

24. What is your favorite animated character or a favorite animal/bird?
- I am not really a fan of cartoons or animated characters. I love clean modern graphic designs and I am currently obsessed with bird designs.

25. What is your favorite holiday?
- I think my favorite holiday is Christmas! I love buying/making gifts for people and sending out cards!

26. Is there anything that you collect?
- I like to collect craft supplies!

27. What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have?
- I do not subscribe to any knitting magazines! I want a pattern to really catch my eye before I pay for a magazine/book!

28. Any books out there you are dying to get your hands on?
- Oooh books! I adore books! I like modern books with inspiring photography! My amazon list changes quickly sometimes because I love to buy books!

29. Any patterns you have been coveting, but haven't bought for one reason or another??
- Not any that I know of right now! Am I missing something? Should I start looking for some?

Today I am Elated about: This most beautiful creative endeavor!!!!! Hubby's birthday!!!! Spending time with Moms!!! These pretty birthday presents!!! Secret pal 6!!!

Today I am not so Elated about: Moms being sleepy when we are supposed to be crafting!! Being creative lately, but not posting about it!

Congratulations to Amanda and her dear family for the addition of this gorgeous Soule!!!! I hope little Adelaide gets lots of beautiful presents for her birthday! These yummy fabrics and this beautiful box were some of the very generous gifts I got from Moms for my birthday! I will show you what becomes of them as soon as I can! (If Moms ever wakes up that might be sooner rather than later!) First though you should see this ...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUBBY!!!

I love you very very much!!! You are the most wonderful birthday gift I have ever gotten *giggle*!!! You have always been perfect and somehow you still manage to get even more perfecter every day!!! I don't know how you do it, but I look forward to years of research!!!

28 - Elations!!!

Today I am Elated about: Turning 28 years old!!! A weekend of fun with hubby to celebrate!! My great new birthday books!!

Today I am not so Elated about: Obviously, the disaster left behind in Katrina's wake!

Well, even with all of the horrible things going on my hubby did his very best to make it a nice birthday weekend for me! It was very sweet! My moms was going to visit for my birthday, but she could not get away from work until next week (in time for hubbys b-day)!! We can't wait to see her!! Moms and I have planned a very crafty week, full of sewing, knitting, spinning, doll making, and scrapbooking! I can't wait!

Spinning round and round!!

Today I am Elated about: Being back to my blogs after sooo many days!! Spinning class at Weaving Works!!! Finally deciding on my birthday wheel!! Secret Pal 6!!!

Today I am not so Elated about: The wait for my birthday wheel! Trying to catch up on writing this blog and reading/posting at the other blogs! Ridiculous back pains continuing!

Spinning class last Wednesday was great! Weaving Works is a fantastic place for classes! I had a lot of fun and I will have to show you my samples and progress a little later. Lets just say that it didn't start out well!

I borrowed an Ashford Traditional Double Treadle and it is pretty nice and comfy, but not really the wheel for me. I really wanted a Saxony style wheel and I love the beauty of the Kromski's. I heard that the Polonaise was a little finicky and should be oiled very frequently (possibly every half hour!!), so I decided that was not the wheel for me right now!

I finally decided on three choices: The Schacht Matchless, The Scacht Saxony and The Lendrum Saxony. I went to Weaving Works to try out a Schact and Lendrum to get a feel for both of them. I was really going to the store to BUY the Scahct, because I had heard about their quality and smoothness! I sat down at the Schact Matchless and the Lendrum Original Double Treadle (the only styles they had of the two brands), and spun for a little bit. When I compared the two, I was shocked to find that I prefered the Lendrum Original Double Treadle Complete Kit, and that I liked the style and comfort of it sooo much that I put one on order right away! I had not even considered this wheel, because it just was not the style I was looking for, but I loved it and hubby got off easy because it was LESS than the Scacht!

Well then they dropped the bomb on me .... Lendrum Wheels are hard to get. I could be waiting for months. When I got home I started calling around and accidentally called GORD LENDRUM HIMSELF!! He was very nice, but he couldn't even tell me how long it would take to get one! Luckily I found an Original DT available at Paradise Fibers and it should be here any time now! I guess that later I will just have to get a second wheel, so that I can still have that pretty saxony style! *tee heee heee*

Wow! That was a long story! Sorry bout that! Lastly I am ecstatic that I signed up for this:

Today I am Elated about: The answers that the Yarn Harlot emailed me!!!! Less than one week till my spinning class!!!! Finishing Branching Out#1!! Spending the day with hubby at work!! Lots of knitting/finishing progress!

Today I am not so Elated about: Back problems still being annoying in general!

I like her answers! I would not normally post an email on my blog, but the nature of these questions and the fact that I had originally planned to ask them in a public venue, made it seem okay! I hope everyone will agree!

Okay, I can not wait to take my spinning class at the Weaving Works next week!!!! Only 5 days away! Woohooo!!!

In the meantime, I spent Wednesday with hubby in the cafeteria of his work and finished off a lot of projects. Turns out that I thought I was a one project girl, but I really had a bunch that were knitted but not finished. I even had some embroidery projects on the go! We had a nice day and took Charlie for a walk around "Lake Bill"! He enjoys the ducks and the fishies! Don't we all.

Today I am Elated about: Wonderful commenters!!! This picture of our Charlie pup!!

Today I am not so Elated about: Our cancelled Super Special Weekend of Fun!!! My not-so-successful attempt at The Magic Loop sock method!!

I can't believe this blog has 11 posts!! It is crazy! Thank you to Tami, Suzanne, Cari, Mom, and Jennifer! The answers to my thought provoking questions were perfect and very sweet and here is what I have decided:

1. The "...-elation" headings are okay, but I think I am going to mix it up a bit so that it doesn't get tooo stale! Then, if I think of one that I think is funny (and I am sure I will be the only to think it is funny) I will indulge myself!

2. I like my scarf and I am considering joining the Branching Out Knit Along! It would be my first knit along, but it is well established and well... I am nervous! I have decided to block, but not to drastically. I do not think I will stretch it out, just set it in it's current form. I can't wait!

3. If you don't get excited about commenters, then what is the point of having a blog? You might as well have a diary that you hope no one ever reads! So, I am going to continue to be thrilled about posts ... even the spam (but not tooo very excited about the spam, and I will probably delete it shortly)! I have been very lucky to have such wonderful commenters, who are also wonderful bloggers! Thank you all again!

Well, since there has been a request to reveal more information about the cute dog in Wednesday's "Pup-Elation" post, I would like to introduce "Charlie Buckets"! He is our 2 year old German Shepherd mix. He is a rescue from The King County Humane Society. In this picture he is learning how to swim. For a dog who is afraid of his water dish, that is saying a lot!! This swimming lesson took place in Leavenworth, where we spent Fourth of July weekend! On his first day he would try to step from rock to rock and be as TALL as possible. It was very funny! He fell off a rock and went for his first accidental assisted swim (my hands were under his tummy guiding him toward hubby and the shore). On the second day, we found a better spot were he could cross the river and I would stand on one side and call him and he would swim across (on leash dragging hubby behind)! It was the most fun!

Speaking of Leavenworth, we were supposed to go back this weekend for a camping/swimming excursion. I have been plagued with back problems all week, so we had to cancel and have a lazy weekend after all.

At home, I wanted to knit some socks from my new knitting book, but since Craft Mart closed the second I approached the door, I had to try sans double pointed needles. I decided to try the Magic Loop method. I thought I had it figured out, but on the 10thish row I lost a stitch. I did not drop it, but it was lost. I did not know how to tink it, so I pulled it apart to start again another time! I am trying to be a "one-knitting-project-at-a-time" kinda girl. It is no fun, but every time I try otherwise, it ends up badly!

"Shearest" Idiocy and Purest Delight!!!!!

Today I am Elated about: The pure delight of the Yarn Harlot & Weaving Works 31st Anniversary!!!! Standing in line at the YH book signing with the very entertaining Seattle Knit Chick!!! The commenters!!! The great advice from the commenters!!! Hubby being accepted to local community college for previously mentioned ceramics class! The Battle of the Network Reality Stars!!

Today I am not so Elated about: The "shear" idiocy of forgetting to take my camera to Yarn Harlot book signing!!!!! Laughing sooo hard and being sooo entertained by previously mentioned Yarn Harlot that both hubby and I screwed up our projects!! Local community college trying to charge us $800 for hubby's enrollment in previously previously mentioned beginning ceramics class!!!

This photo is from the Knitty website!! I had to find something to post because I forgot my camera last night, much to my dismay! My first event as a blogger and I was sans camera ... bad blogger ... bad! The book signing/anniversary was a whole lot of fun though! She was so entertaining that all I could successfully do was mess up row three of my repeat (that one always gets me). Hubby added some stitches, twisted some stitches and did some other things to stitches that were completely un-identifiable by anyone!! We spent our entire dinner fixing our projects and are now back on track! Since we are both new to knitting any problems tend to take quite a toll on both of us.

When we got home, we found an e-mail stating that hubby had been accepted to the local community college and that we could now register him for our beginning ceramics class. However, when I registered him this morning they wanted $800 for the class because he was not a citizen. We called and sent in some i.d. to say he was a resident and we hope it will be fixed. Otherwise, a beginning ceramics class is not worth $1100 for two people! That's ridiculous! We could buy an extra couple of cheap wheels and probably have Jennifer Lopez teach us personally! I don't know if she really has any ceramics knowledge, but at that price we could hire someone pretty famous! The only downfall would be having to spend all that time with J Lo. (I am sure she has her talents, but I am not her biggest fan lets just say)!

Alright lastly and most importantly I had more comments!!!!!! Wow, look... even six exclamations... that's a lot! I was really excited! I don't know how I got so lucky! All of the answers and advice were perfect! More on that a little bit later....

Oh yeah and The Battle of The Network Reality Stars will have to wait a little bit too. I am sure everyone who ever reads this will be crushed .... well mostly my mom, but she can wait a little bit. I am sure *wink*!

Deep, Thought Provoking Questions!

Today I continue to be Elated about: Two whole comments! My Branching Out scarf in Kouigu PPM! The possibility of finding answers to these thought provoking questions! A new, very funny entry in the blog-elations!

Today I continue to be not so Elated about: The lack of knitting progress and my inability to remember which row I am on!

Okay, now that I know that one person read one of my blogs, I have decided to ask questions of the knitting/blogging community at large! I hope to get a reply from someone ... well hopefully at least my mom! That may be asking a lot, but I am now dreaming BIG! Besides, even though I have already sent my mom her birthday and Christmas presents, I will be sure to remind her that next years gifts still hang in the balance! So here goes ...

1. Is anyone besides me starting to get annoyed by the "elation" blog headings (ie. pup-elation)? I know that elation is the theme and it feels appropriate to me in the links, but it is not easy to think of those titles and they are starting to feel tired.

2. Is it wrong to love a scarf before it has been blocked? I am working on my Branching Out scarf, which was supposed to be a gift before I got greedy and decided to keep it. I know it doesn't seem right, but it is my first patterned project in an unusual koigu shade (possibly a mistake) and it was not ever my mother-in-laws favorite color. I thought I would make her another one. I am so pleased with myself. I did not think I could ever do it! Is it wrong to be sooo greedy? Is it also wrong to decide not to block it? Is that blasphemy?

3. Is it unusual to be THIS excited about commentors? If it is wrong, I dont want to be right! *giggle*

Pup - Elation!

Today I am Elated about: Two whole comments!!!!! The Yarn Harlot tomorrow!! An entire day dedicated to knitting! A clean doggy! Lunch out with hubby! Registering for a beginning ceramics class, hopefully with hubby!!! Wet puppy pics!

Today I am not so Elated about: Only three rows of completed knitting during my day of dedicated knitting! Dirty doggy popcorn smell! Clean wet dog smell! Nervousness revolving around the speed of hubby's ability to register for aforementioned class! Wednsday's required bathroom cleanings!

I can not tell you how very excited I am that I got TWO very nice comments! I am on top of the world! Yes, I know that one was comment was a very gracious reply to my comment on her site. Thank you for taking the time to post a comment here Tami!!! Thank you also to Suzanne who also commented!!!! I can't believe it!! I don't know how she found me (probably from that great blog Blue Rose Knits)!! If I had known that posting a comment on someone else's site would practically flood my website with readers, I would have tried not to be so shy a little earlier. Tee Hee! I just could not resist commenting about Tami's beautiful Manos scarf and the flood isn't really so overwhelming, but it is perfect! Thank you girls!

In other less fun news, the doggy got an impromptu bath/shower/hose down . He started to smell like popcorn and now he smells like wet dog, but at least with hints of shea butter, oatmeal, rosemary, eucalyptus, and orange oil!

Not a very productive knitting day like I hoped, but I was productive in other areas. Well ... hmmm.... not really, I guess. I still need to clean the bathrooms, but I did register for our ceramics class. I applied for hubby, but he has to be accepted before he can register. I am on the edge of my seat because there is only seven spaces left and I registered really really late as it is. I have taken several years of ceramics and have a pottery wheel at home, which I can not wait to use now that the garage is clean and the monstrosity (shelving unit) is in place! However, it is my first class with hubby and his first ceramics class. He tends to be very talented in new creative areas and I could certainly use a good refresher. I think it will be lots of fun! I can't wait!

Today I am Elated about: New 120 colored pencil Prismacolor set!! Finished Garage! Enjoying my crafting space, my favorite music, and the sunny breeze!

Today I am not so Elated about: The total lack of knitting progress, due to the large Garage makeover! Forgetting to post that last message until this afternoon!

I continue to try to post on a regular basis! I like pictures, so I feel like a post is incomplete without them! Pictures are an effort to post, because hubby is working from home upstairs in front of our windows computer (which has adobe and works best with my camera)! Ah well! Keep on tryin on!

As you can see my color whorish-ness continues! I love sets... sets of anything with lots of colors! I can find any sort of reason to need whatever it is that has lots and lots of colors! It is very funny how my house has all white walls and I have a hard time commmiting to a color, but give me a box set of pencils and I will drool all over them before you even have time to find an object sharp enough to break the plastic wrap! I love them all! I even had the set of 72 pencils, but when I realized there were 48 colors I was missing out on .... well .... I could bare it no longer! It was time for another early birthday present!

Organiz - Elation!

Today I am Elated about: Posting again after such a long time!! TKGA Master's Program!!!! The Yarn Harlot coming to our humble Seattle next week!!! My spinning classes next month!!! A warm, sunny day that is not sweltering! An almost finished garage workshop! The giant monstrosity we built for our storage bins!! Another double feature this weekend! The Corpse Bride!

Today I am not so Elated about: Dirty dishes in the sink and the required weekly kitchen cleaning! My chicken that exploded in the microwave!

Well, I can't believe that it is almost a month since my last post for goodness sakes already! We dedicated all of our free time for the past month to the orginization of our garage and are finally almost finished!! A lot of boxes were still unpacked from our move a year ago and we had a giant mountain of Goodwill items which were getting comfy in our garage. We worked all weekend again but we took a small break on Sunday to see Charlie & The Chocolate Factory and Wedding Crashers. They were both pretty funny and I would give them each hmmm .... three exclamations!!! I can not wait, however, for The Corpse Bride to come out! I love Tim Burton and similarly The Nightmare Before Christmas.

In other knitting news .... I signed up for TKGA's Master Program. After a month of waiting and delivery to our neighbors, it finally arrived. I am very excited. I know that most (if not all) of the program's participants have been knitting for more than five months. Mind you, I am not attempting this because I think I am a really talented knitter, but rather as a learning experience. I plan to take it slow. I am still working on the Branching Out scarf using a ball of Koigu PPM. Hopefully, I have enough! The yardage is not toooo different from the pattern, but I seem to be going through it quickly. I will post pictures shortly!

Today I am Elated About: New Blogger Template!!!! Bewitched & Star Wars III double feature!! Shopping at The Weaving Works!!! The Yarn Harlot coming to The Weaving Works!!!! The promise of my first spinning wheel on the day she comes!!!!! Hubby saying that he would not deny me any crafts that I wanted to try!!!!! Remaining conscious after that astounding, mind altering comment!!!
Visiting one of our favorite restaurants The Mediterranean Kitchen!! My hubby's two year anniversery with his company!!! A beautiful designer arrangement of potted plants and a 200$ gift certificate to the restaurant of our choice, as a token of appreciation from the previously mentioned company.

Today I am not so Elated about: The choice to give up on our custom blogger template attempt due to so many difference in Mac/PC that were beyond both of us!!! All the hours that went into said template!! The heat!!! The sheer inability to find The Magic Loop booklet in one of my local yarn shops! Buying Addi Turbos in the 47 inched size 2 which is ridiculously big for me, even when paired with The Magic Loop sock method (or so I hear since I can not locate it nearby yet)!!!

Hopefully, I will be able to increase the amount of posts I make, since I feel a bit better about this template. It seems silly to post so many updates on one post. I would like to add some more links, but I have been working on this all day as it is. I will have to save the rest for tomorrow, because I can no longer see straight. I may even make the leap and add my blog to the blog updaters and maybe someone besides me and my mother will read this some day!

Today I am Elated about: My hubby, my puppy and my kitten!!

Today I am not so Elated about: My sweet adorable Goldfish Ganesha dying last night!!

Ganesha was a White Siamese Doll Goldfish. He was very cute and tiny. He was so small in fact that we could only run his fishtank filter for a little bit of time per day because it would wear him out. This unfortunately lead to Algae Bloom in his tank. We were working as agressively as possible to reverse the water conditions, but it was to no avail. Finally we had to move him out of his tank and into fresh water (conditioned for a few days). He seemed to be doing better for most of the day and then at the about 7pm last night he died. I was very heartbroken. We left his filter on over night and now the water is clear as a bell. Maybe we should have been more aggresive with using his filter while he was still alive and just hoped that he would have gotten stronger or used to the current.

We will miss you very much Ganesha!!

Today I am Elated about: New Black Eyed Peas album and single!!! Finishing my Floral Trellis Scarf! Finally finishing EIGHT other scarves!! Getting six of those scarves shipped!!

Today I am not so Elated about: Packaging and Presentation!

I can't wait till the new BEP album is released on June 7th!!

Well anyhow, my finished Floral Trellis Scarf is not very much like Ann Budd's in Scarf Style, but I am kinda happy with it anyway! It is now on its way to Churchmouse to hopefully be a part of their May display! I am quite relieved to be finished with it!

I also finished scarves for 2 of my friends, my step-mom, my 2 step-sisters, my grandmother and my cousin! I have been dreading the actual finishing of the scarves! I haven't been very good at it so far, but I think I certainly got better at it this week! I worked all day yesterday to get a ton of stuff shipped. Finally got out some scarves, some soaps, some software, some magnets, some bath bombs, some hand lotions, some bath salts, some cards, some candies, and one painted rooster shelf with wooden spoons!!

I didn't have much time though to wrap everything as nicely as I wanted! I am trying to let that go! Ah well! On to finishing the rest of my projects!

Today I am Elated about: Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind!!! One super-organized craft closet!

Today I am not so Elated about: Sideways!!! Sore arms from all of this weekends cleaning! Not getting a chance to post yesterday! Issues with my Floral Trellis Scarf knitted flowers caused soley by my lack of concentration!

We Netflixed three movies last weekend and our impressions of them really ran the gamit. Sideways, we really didn't like. We kept saying to each other, "Okay, do you understand why everyone likes this movie yet?" Eternal Sunshine, on the other hand, was so good that we could hardly stand it! I am not a big Jim Carrey fan, but he did a fantastic job! Lastly, we watched Ocean's 12 which was okay! The Dancing Fields scene is really great, but other than that it was just so-so! I thought it was a bit ridiculous that Julia Roberts played Tess, pretending to be Julia Roberts. Ah Well! Back to my scarf!

Today I am Elated about: First crocheted bookmark! First correct row #1! Teaching Mom how to crochet over the phone! Daffodil Days Sale at Jo-ann's! New pinking shears and felt! Cleaning and Organizing!

Today I am not so Elated about: The difficulty of explaining the anatomy of a crochet stitch over the phone! So many books that lack telling you about stitch anatomy! Cleaning and Organizing!

So here is my first bookmark! It is from the Cozy Crochet Kit by Melissa Leapman, which was part of the "Learn to Crochet" package I sent her, along with a bunch of other supplies she would need. I finished this cute bookmark before I could finish explaining it to Mom, so it's finished-ness is temporary. I will be frogging it soon! I am loving cleaning and organizing, but I made a big mess last night by pulling tons of stuff out and putting it all over the place. Now I have to put it all away! For convenience, I am taking all of my crafty and artsy stuff out of my decorative office and re-locating it downstairs to a closet full of new plastic storage boxes! I am forgoing the prettier display options for ease of use! I spend a lot more time downstairs with hubby than I do up here! It's tough though! I love my jars of buttons and cups of pens!

Today I am Elated about: Mom receiving her presents! All the fun I hope we will have crocheting over the phone together this weekend! A beautiful day, a good informative book, a rocking chair, a pashmina over my spaghetti strap top, a light breeze, a sunny spot on the patio, and a puppy happily playing in the yard!

Today I am not so Elated about: Having to wait to go out to dinner! Being hungry and happily bored, but productive! Yesterday's post being eaten by the Post Monster!

This is a picture of the tag on my mom's present! My hubby paid extra to guarantee that her package was two-day-a.m. shipped, so that we wouldn't have to go crazy waiting for it to arrive. In her package was lots of fun stuff, including a "Learn to Crochet Kit", that I kind of put together myself, so that she is all ready to start! I want her to knit/crochet with me sooo badly! My husband called my first needle craft, Knifty Knitting, "A gateway craft" and he thinks I am a craft pusher now! I say its much better than drugs, but equally addicting!

Today I am Elated about: Kool-Aid Dyeing!!!! 3 Giant Jugs of Kool-Aid leftover from a previous project!! Kool-Aid at a price of only $2.00 for 8 packages!!

Today I am not so Elated about: Hmmm .. Homework!

So here are my Kool-Aid experiments for the morning:

1. Lamb's Pride Bulky, Cherry dyed on the stove.
2. Same Cherry LP after a Tropical Punch dip and microwaving!

There is not a lot color variation, but there is some and it is beautiful! These are the only two colors that I really have, but I am going to get more tomorrow. Oh, I also have Watermelon Kiwi which I thought was white, but it's not it is Green!!! I just tried it and now I am definitely going to have to try another ball today! Pinks and Greens, I could not be more excited!

Pope - Elation!

Today I am Elated about: My first knitted flower for the Floral Trellis Scarf! Kool-Aid dyeing!

Today I am not so Elated about: Last nights broken chenille, that meant I had to start the almost completed flower all over again! Staying up till 1 in the morning last night finishing this flower!

Well, if its not very clear, the flower is on top of my ball of chenille! It was hard to capture the flower, since it is still just a ruffle, and my camera battery was dying!

Mom, the yarn in the back is the Manos! I will pick the hank with the lighter shades for your scarf!

The Random Fiber Color Generator must have been watching our local news today. There was late breaking news today when they thought the new Pope had been elected, but it was just the beginnings of the black smoke, and not really the white smoke at all! I may not be Catholic, but it seems like a really intriguing process! I can not however, speak for the religious affiliations of the Random Fiber Color Generator!

I just started row three of the Floral Trellis Scarf by Ann Budd, from Scarf Style by Pam Allen! I have lots of homework to do, but I don't want to put it down! It has been pretty nice and easy so far, especially since I just jumped into it without any formal crochet knowledge. I was daunted by the 301 stitches you had to chain and my first thought was, "Is this hook long enough to hold all of those stitches?" I forgot it was crochet!

Today I am Elated about: Going to Weaving Works tomorrow!!! New Random Fiber Color Generator!! Adding some new links! Learning lots of new stuff! Not having to make my pictures public to post them!

Today I am not so Elated about: Waiting till tomorrow to go to the Weaving Works! Fresh from the oven soggy pumpkin muffins! Messy kitchen created by making said soggy pumpkin muffins! Scary computer slowdown!

Now, you may be wondering to yourself, " What in the world is a Random Fiber Color Generator?" Well, trust me that is a good question. It is the little sister of the Random Panty Color Generator. Now you are asking yourself, "I wonder how that got started?" Well, don't worry, I will tell you. A very good friend of mine, used to sign his e-mails with a message reminding people to let him know what color panties they were wearing, because he was doing a "survey". I have no idea how that got started, and I do not think that I want to know! While he was away in Iraq, we e-mailed a lot more than usual (like twice even!). Since I did not want to compromise his survey, I felt it necessary to report a panty color every time I e-mailed. That soon became tiresome, so I created the Random Panty Color Generator. It worked very well, and retired (or maybe went on a long vacation), when he came home.

Being the incredibly helpful person that I am, I wanted to help those creating new yarn colors find new names for said new yarn colors. So, I created the new, and well, much more tame, Random Fiber Color Generator! I hope everyone likes it, and if anyone actually uses one of these names, let me know. Just for giggles!

1. I just had my 28th birthday! I feel both pretty young and very old!
2. I live in Washington State, but I am still a California girl at heart and I miss my home!
3. I live with my hubby, my neurotic doggy Charlie and our cat Squiddly! All boys I call them the bigglest, middlest and littlest!

4. I am a Virgo and I do act like it. I am analytical and a bit obsessive about order and organization!
5. While I am normally pretty neat and tidy, I go through periods of complete disorder!
6. I openly generalize facts, but it drives me crazy when other people do! What a hypocrite!

7. Even though I have had job offers, I am not currently employed, which leaves me a lot of time for crafting!
8. I hope to have my own online crafty business which I am working on, but not rushing through!
9. Hubby and I hope to have our own brick and mortar business some day!

10. I won a coloring contest in 6th grade! Some bank, some where, is hoarding my 25$ prize!
11. I love all things crafty! I like to embroider, knit, crochet, dye, spin, paint, draw, make bath products, dolls and ceramic objects!
12. I want to learn to sew! I failed my sewing class in college when I tried to make a silk jacket instead of the required cotton shirt!

13. I was a fashion design and fashion merchandising major for my first couple years of college!
14. Two of the five jobs I have had were in the Fashion/Textile industry!
15. I had the best first job when I was 14 years old. I worked as a Design Assistant at Hoffman International Fabrics!
